Good Morning,
TGIF huh? I know many must say that when Friday rolls around. (smiling)
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend and hoping it will be fun, safe and enjoyable for you.

This week since hearing that one of my favorite morning programs was rated in the top 5 (I believe it was 5) I understand why! Anyhoo Fox & Friends it up there for the most watched morning shows and overall in the top 5 cable programs. It is not surprising to me, because I watch E.D. Hill, Brian Kilmeade, and Steve Doocy all week and then the weekend edition. Not only is it full of current news reporting, but each one of the anchors you feel you know them and their family. You laugh constantly along with being informed, and the discussions on news topics can be hilarious, serious or down right passionate. I usually agree with E.D. Hill on her opinions regarding right and wrong. If you haven’t checked it out you really ought to.

They have this new question for viewers that email in all during the show, “you choose the news”. The topics are three hot issues and whatever one gets the most responses, more discussions are on that subject. I always fall in the majority, so I can’t be too far off on what the American people want to know more about. Immigration and the illegal word seems to top all else lately.

This week I have been busy around the home front, not much blogging or researching. In the mornings, I do skim through the headlines from the Associated Press and read the Drudge Report. There have been several stories I have been wanting to report on, but it seems I can’t make myself lately sit long enough to write about them.

Topics of Concern with Me:

ILLEGAL Immigration – I have no problem with people living here, but I feel they need to be legal and we need to start with sealing our borders. A.S.A.P. not after the elections!!

Iran and Russia- With all the other news going on, the focus I feel is not enough on our most dangerous enemies. Russia, I feel did supply Saddam with information prior to the war in Iraq and my thoughts are Russia is in bed with Iran. Russia, in my opinion, is calling all the shots with their control over the weapons with Iran and China buying them.

Islam Globally- If ones are noticing, Islam is taking over our planet. It seems to me that the world is ‘way too’ sensitive to Islam than Christianity or Judaism. Oh yeah, front page of NY Times today, prayer does not work for healing, same story in our local newspaper the Sun-Sentinel. Who are they trying to convince? It is sad because people that may be lost, may believe this study. WHAT a huge waste of money-2.5 million dollars on this study.

Politics - I am mad at both sides right now, especially Congress. They seem to think they are ABOVE THE LAW, well they make them, perhaps they are? They have a lot of room to talk about where our tax dollars go, since we pay for all their shenanigans. Does anyone know how to search for all the benefits that Congress receives, is there a website that supplies you with this information? Where are you A Jacksonian? (smiling) In reference to my two previous posts on Congress, I would like to research all the fringe benefits of our representatives. In the comment section on one, term limits for President started with Franklin Roosevelt…check out comment for more info.

True Crime- Are the crimes getting more heinous or is it just me thinking that?

I could keep adding to this list, but must go this morning….Sorry guys for being busy lately and away from the computer. It is definitely spring and beautiful outside, we are re-arranging furniture, spring cleaning and going through things. What a job when you are a pack rat!! (smiling)

Senate Passes New Ethics Bill

Don’t REFORM Lobbyist…..REFORM CONGRESS!!!!

WASHINGTON — Faced with a plummeting reputation among voters, the Senate overwhelmingly passed a modest lobby reform bill Wednesday that has been months in the making. The legislation is getting pretty mixed reviews for what it does and doesn't do.

The 90-8 vote restricts gift giving and makes lobbying activities more open. It also bans meals from lobbyists, but does not prohibit lobbyist-paid travel, a big bone of contention for some following the Jack Abramoff scandal.
Just hours before the vote, a U.S. District judge in Miami sentenced the former lobbyist to five years and 10 months in prison on conspiracy and wire fraud charges. Abramoff is helping federal investigators probing malfeasance in Congress.
Under the Senate bill, lobbyists will be required to reveal more information about their contacts with lawmakers. The bill prolongs the impact of the "revolving door" between lawmakers and lobbyists, mandating that two years must pass from the time a member leaves the body and begins to lobby his former colleagues. That doubles the current length of time a former lawmaker must wait.
The bill does not establish an independent ethics watchdog office to police the activity of members.

Reform Bill yeah right.....Don't get excited about these Senators passing this bill yesterday, it is not even a tip of the iceberg of all the dealings they are involved in.
Timing is everything.....also yesterday Jack Abramoff appeared in front of a judge in Miami and was sentenced. Humm....what a coincidence!!! Oh yeah, Ear marks now will have to be known 24 hours in advance. (sigh)

Winkler Case - Thursday 3-30-06

Mary Winkler’s attorneys waived an opportunity for a preliminary hearing this morning and did not ask for bond at this time. Many are very concerned about Mrs. Winkler and her mental state, no one said for sure if she was on 'suicide watch' but it seemed to be insinuated.

Mom paid $600 for Her Child's Molestation

NEW PORT RICHEY -- A mother confronted a neighbor who allegedly raped her 7-year-old son and threatened to call police, but reportedly accepted $600 to let the man molest her son again, authorities said.
The 30-year-old unemployed mother was charged Tuesday with capital sexual battery and child abuse. The neighbor, Nicholas Quiles, 48, has been charged with capital sexual battery. Winkler Murder Case Update- Hearing & Funeral

Matthew Winkler’s visitation was yesterday where over 200 people attended and he will be buried today. On Monday, at McNairy County Criminal Justice Center Mary Winkler said “no, sir” to the judge at her arraignment after being ask if she had any questions.

Her attorneys entered no plea, and the judge granted the defense's request to postpone a bail hearing until her preliminary hearing Thursday morning.

Last night after I watched several programs, Nancy Grace’s show seem to reveal the most information. Her guest was Mary Winkler’s attorney, Mr. Farese, Sr. and a Baptist pastor explaining about the Church of Christ. Monday night’s transcripts

My Take:
I have many questions involving in this case. First, as many of you know I am from the area (Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, AL) where Mary Winkler was located, arrested and supposedly confessed murdering her husband. If you remember, a confession immediately was released followed first-degree murder charges. Alabama authorities questioned Mary Winkler without TN officials present. Growing up in this area, I can’t help but wonder if the proper legal channels for Mary Winkler’s rights might have been violated. This is strictly my own opinion. Perhaps I am basing this on years of Baldwin country’s reputation and their performance of justice in rural south AL. Regardless, if she is guilty or not why is the motive being withheld and everything is now being questioned?

I am the first to say that criminals that commit crimes and found guilty need to be behind bars. If Mary Winkler is guilty of cold-blooded murder she needs to pay the price, however if she or her children were abused by her husband that is another opinion. All of this is becoming more and more murkier as each day goes by instead of clarity.

It seems in the last year the Winkler family relocated to Selmer, TN quite abruptly, both Mary and Matthew lost loved ones; Mary lost her mother, had a miscarriage and Matthew lost his grandfather. A person commented that the picture of the Winkler’s family (shown in media) is from a funeral and there is a white card in the flowers behind them. That would explain as one said for the children looking sad. To me nothing about this case makes sense. Why would a woman snap and kill her husband unless she felt threatened in some way for her and/or her children?

Last night Mary’s attorney stated that the note sent to the church indicating Mary was sorry, was based on her being sorry for the church having to go through this not necessarily for the murder. More questions here!! Did she confess or not, was that scratches on her arms in the photo that ones have pointed out, did Matthew turn during a struggle to be shot in the back, questions galore. A neighbor on Rita Cosby’s Live and Direct spoke of a problem involving Matthew, his gun and the neighbor’s dogs, so this leaves me again with more questions. Perhaps, Thursday at Mary Winkler’s preliminary hearing we will find out more.

New Massage Computer Chair

Wow, my daughter this morning brought home for me a new massage leather computer chair. WOOHOO!! This is nice!! We assembled it earlier and I am sitting in it at this moment. Perhaps now, I can sit longer at the computer to visit, lately my neck and back have been giving me fits. This has a built-in remote control and it is so cool!! (smiling)

Mary Winkler Sees TN Judge Monday

Mary Winkler, who police said has confessed to killing her minister husband, showed little emotion during a jailhouse visit with a member of their church but offered an apology and seemed resigned to a fate away from her children.

Out of Control - Illegal means Illegal

I don’t understand when we have 12 million illegal immigrants roaming in our country and tens of thousands are in the streets having rallies, demonstrating they are against enforcing our laws, that we are not out there arresting them or rounding them up. To me it is like allowing criminals to protest that it is okay to break the law while we sit back watching, makes no sense to me. Is freedom of speech for citizens of the U.S. only or is it for illegal immigrants as well? I do not have the answer to this.

Illegal means i-l-l-e-g-a-l. According to my dictionary, illegal’s definition says unauthorized and unlawful. Obviously, with watching the rallies yesterday, it made me think about them taking over this country once again. The majority of these people are undocumented. We have no idea who they are, their backgrounds, and where they ALL are, it is time we did something about this, in my opinion actually something should have been done way before now. Why should they be able to get a pass without getting in line with the ones that are taking the proper channels the legal way?

I have no problem with people getting citizenship, but feel they need to do it legally. We have dangerous terrorists also crossing our borders along with other criminals from human trafficking to drug smugglers. I feel President’s Bush plan is a start. HOWEVER, in my opinion, I support a fence too. (one with an electric wire across the top) I believe you would see a decrease immediately.

Mary’s Mystery Motive - Winkler Case

Mary Winkler was transported back to Selmer, TN today and was wearing the same outfit that she was arrested in. Her hearing is set for Monday. The officer in the car with her for over 4 hours from Orange Beach, AL to Tennessee said Mary Winkler did not speak a word the complete trip. I have listened to ones that know her, defense attorneys, former FBI profiler, and different experts, all seem to be speculating on what the motive was for Mary Winkler to shoot her husband, Matthew, a very popular pastor, in the back. According to police Mary confessed to shooting her husband and they know the motive, however all information is being held extremely close to the vest literally.

It sure has many of us that are interested in this story wondering about the life of a wife married to a preacher. One police official gave hint tonight on one of Fox News Primetime programs, that abuse may be a part of it. It made sense today when others were discussing that if they released information, that it might jeopardize ones’ statements or being questioned, if the media released the motive details.

I was wondering why (smiling) my visitors to this site had tripled the last few days. Normally I may get close to hundred but it has been attracting Google, MSN, Yahoo, and all the search engines with people looking for information involving this case. Last, I checked today it was reaching 300; it is amazing just how many people are searching and is interested in this bizarre murder. (Apparently not many blogs are keeping up with this story to find me and a few others in large numbers) Therefore, I will continue to give updates on this case as much as possible as it breaks.

What do you think the motive was? With me reading news sites, other blogs and watching breaking news, etc. there are many theories out there, btw I recommend to all to visit the True Crime Blogroll on my sidebar. Ones have speculated PPD post-partum psychosis or anxiety, physical abuse, stress related depression under pressure to uphold a persona of a perfect marriage and wife of a pastor, personality disorders, child abuse – physical and perhaps sexually, etc. One woman/friend said that Mary seem to smile all the time, but also seemed distracted with empty emotions behind the smiles. This is a mystery and why would a woman feel so trapped that she did not see anyway out except murder? I appreciate all comments, interested in your opinions.

Afghan Christian Faces Death Penalty

AFGHANIS ARE TURNING TO CHRIST IN RECORD NUMBERS

(WASHINGTON, D.C., March 23, 2006) -- In a piece last year entitled, "The Big (Untold) Story In The Middle East," I wrote about how Afghanis are turning to Christ in record numbers.

"There were only 17 known evangelical Christians in the country before al-Qaeda attacked the United States. Today, the number of Afghan Christians is in the thousands and growing quickly. Church leaders say Afghan Muslims are open to hearing the gospel message like never before. Dozens of baptisms occur every week. People are snatching up Bibles and other Christian books as fast as they can be printed or brought into the country. The JESUS film -- a two hour docudrama on the life of Christ based on the Gospel of Luke -- was even shown on television in one city before police shut down the entire TV station.

"'God is moving so fast in Afghanistan, we're just trying to keep up,' one Afghan Christian worker told me, requesting anonymity. 'The greatest need now is leadership development. We need to train pastors to care for all these new believers.'"

In EPICENTER, the non-fiction book I'm writing now (due out in December from Tyndale), I describe in detail the amazing story of how more Muslims are turning to Christ today than at any other time in history, from Morocco to Central Asia.

Which is why I view this developing story out of Kabul with so much concern. An Afghan Muslim convert to Christianity is facing prosecution and thus the death penalty for becoming a follower of Jesus. This is not what we meant when we liberated that needy country from the death grip of the Taliban.

President Bush was right to speak out about this case, saying he was "deeply troubled" by the threat of death against a Afghani Christian. He has promised to look into the matter, which is a positive development. Canadian, Italian and other European governments are also speaking out, to their credit.

The world must have a real heart-to-heart with President Karzai and the Afghan legislature that governments are created to protect God-given rights, not to dispense them, and that one of those rights is the freedom to choose one's religion.

The Church, meanwhile, must follow the words of Jesus, who said in Matthew 5:43-44: "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

Let us pray, therefore, for President Karzai, for all leaders in Afghanistan, and for this rapidly growing fellowship of Christ-followers -- for wisdom, for protection, and for a new birth of spiritual, political and economic freedom.

Witnesses Recall Winkler's Arrest in Orange Beach, AL

Police, witnesses recall Winkler's arrest and time in Orange Beach

(ORANGE BEACH, Ala.) March 24 -- There are thousands of people in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores this week, many of them families on Spring Break, and when Police got the word to be on the look out for a woman and three children in a mini-van, it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

"This is Spring Break. The city is full, and the officers did an outstanding job in locating the vehicle," said Orange Beach Assistant Police Chief Greg Duck.

Police say Mary Winkler had just checked into the Sleep Inn Motel in Orange Beach late Thursday afternoon when she decided to take the children out for dinner. Witnesses say Winkler barely made it out of the parking lot when a patrol unit pulled her over.

Pattie Evans is visiting from Owensboro, Kentucky. She told NBC 15 News, "We were across the street having dinner, and we knew something was going on." Click here for Full Story-WPMI

Mary Winkler is being held presently in Baldwin County Jail in Bay Minette, AL. (the county seat) This morning Mary Winkler became a suspect and as the day unfolded she confessed to murdering her husband, Pastor Matthew Winkler, 31 yrs old. Mrs. Winkler has been charged now with 1st degree murder; she waived extradition and will be sent back to Tennessee.

It seems to be somewhat confusing on if she had rented a condo and checked in first to a motel or not. This motel listed above is not a condo. It makes you wonder if she had previously planned for spring break to bring the children to the beach or perhaps she thought it would be a place to escape to. Many unanswered questions at this time, the press conference today gave very few details. One good thing that was revealed the children did not witness the murder, but it makes me wonder if they might have heard the fatal shot(s).

Orange Beach Police Chief Billy Wilkins said Friday that Mary Winkler had rented a condo on the beach but hadn't stayed there.

Assistant Police Chief Greg Duck said authorities spotted Mary Winkler as she left a Waffle House around 7:30 p.m. Thursday after picking up a carryout order. The children were in the car with her at the time.

A custody hearing was held Friday afternoon in Alabama, where a Juvenile Court judge was determining whether the parents of Matthew Winkler should take custody of the children, according to Duck. Mary Winkler attended that hearing, FOX News confirmed.

Mary Winkler's father, reached in her hometown of Knoxville, Tenn., declined to comment Friday. Update from Fox News-Full Story

Dick Morris: Hillary's Immigration Calculation

Former Clinton White House political advisor Dick Morris says there was more to Hillary Clinton's bible-themed immigration critique on Wednesday than meets the eye.

Blasting a GOP bill that would make illegal immigration a felony, Mrs. Clinton complained:

"It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scriptures. This bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself."

Morris tells NewsMax: "The woman who said that she was 'adamantly against' illegal aliens now compares them to Jesus.

"Before she said that she felt we needed to police our border but now she opposes making legitimate efforts to protect our borders."

But as is usually the case with the Clintons, there a political calculation to Hillary's hypocrisy.

"Her statement," says Morris, "reflects the fact that she has to run in Hispanic-heavy New York before she seeks the presidency."

The top strategist says Hillary is like a boat tacking back and forth depending upon which way the political wind is blowing.

"One admires the admiral, but the course is hardly consistent," he observed. Source

I am not going to jump on Hillary’s personal feelings or relationship involving Christianity, but using Jesus as a political tool is another opinion. I am somewhat confused here. Does Hillary believe Jesus approves of anti-religion and other issues the far left represents? Which is it? Or does she now believe that moderate democrats are her target for elections (NY Senate and President) and that is what they want to hear? I understand she has never referred to Jesus before publicly in her statements. Is scriptures and Jesus a signal for her campaign in the future? Please someone explain this to me.

Minister's Wife Drives to My Home Area

Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, AL are located on pleasure island, my home area along the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. Spring Break is in full swing on the beach with car tags from many different states. It did not stop the local police from noticing a TN license plates NDX-288 of a gray 2006 Toyota Sienna van though. My sister called this morning, to see if I had heard the news. Last night before going to sleep I heard that they had picked up Mary Winkler and she was being questioned. I actually know the police officer that spotted her, what a small town I am from. (smiling)

I admit yesterday, when I posted about the amber alert that this sounded suspicious about the pastor being shot and no sign of forced entry into the home.

Good Morning,

Yesterday my DSL server went down, wow, you would think the power went out and I was in a natural disaster. (smiling) It turned out alright because I was able to get some things done around the house. Lately I noticed I was an “unknown country” and for the longest time I have been “Pompano Beach” (not my location), today I am showing Ft. Lauderdale and as I told Patrick , next I may be in “Cuba”. (lol) – In regards to my server and IP. In the midst of 3.5 million people here, who knows where and what tower my DSL will pick up next.

As most everyone knows, it is beautiful down here in south Florida. Yesterday was gorgeous. I re-potted some root bound past due ferns and other plants, and enjoyed playing in the dirt. Actually got some laundry done and was tempted to soak up some sun by the pool. It has already hit 90 one day and been in the high 80’s for several, by the time I was through you would have thought I’d ran a marathon with being so sweaty and hot. All this needed to be done before the invasion of the huge toads come back.

Later my daughter and I went to TJ Max and Office Depot, and I spent way too much money and by the time we got back home, I was totally exhausted. Lately my sleeping habits, has been all screwed up. Getting up before the sun around 4:30 a.m. and by 2 p.m. thereafter I am useless for visiting blogs, getting much done, etc. then falling asleep before the end of my prime-time programs on FNC even with my little nap in the afternoon. Many of you may not know about my Fibromyalgia, but it keeps me extremely fatigued. I have some good days and then bad ones; it seems to reflect in my posting and/or visiting and most especially in my email responses. Sorry to ones that I am way behind on as far as answering your emails. Oh yeah that reminds me, last week I received an email from someone stating how wrong I am about sex predators and how I should understand how difficult it is for them to live in society, etc. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH! I couldn’t believe it, however I just let it go without wasting my time on expressing my strong views it was apparent they have not read my blog and how I am totally against allowing these predators on the street walking around free. It probably was a sex offender, who knows.

Tuesday, I watched with my son DERAILED. I like Jennifer Aniston and this movie will definitely keep you on the edge once it takes off. It has a twist that you do not expect, usually I am the one that figures out the most un-obvious suspect but this time my son guessed it before I did. If you like suspense-thrillers, definitely check it out. I have the new movie too, Dreamers with Kurt Russell but have not watched it yet. I hear it is good with Dakota Fanning. I loved her in Man on Fire.

So much going on in just a day, one I missed on posting. Wow, was that not a miracle about the family found missing in their Motor home six feet in snow? Another miracle about the woman abducted 10 yrs ago and tells a clerk at a convenient store her story and then the clerk calls the police, she is now reunited with her family. Totally Bizarre Story! Don’t even get me started on Debra Lafave, ‘the too pretty to go to prison teacher predator’ her butt needs prison time. In that press conference she gave, I did not hear any remorse did you? Brad King again, the same prosecutor that did not charge the three people living in the mobile home with previous convicted sex predator John Couey (charged a year ago today in this case) that kidnapped, raped and buried little Jessica Lunsford in his backyard. That case will be coming up soon here in Florida. Since this happened with King, FL has passed a new law to where now it will be a felony for ones that help sex predators and reveal crucial information when questioned by police regarding their whereabouts, etc.

Florida lawmakers are in the process of passing a new law and cracking down on where sex predators will not be allowed to get Viagra and other sex enhancing drugs. DUH!! About time, hopefully other states will get on board with this too. I just don’t get it, where several states are so soft on sex predators with their laws and rulings. HOW MANY LAWS ARE GOING TO BE CREATED WITH DEAD CHILDREN’S NAMES ATTACHED TO THEM before our country wakes up?

Well, this did not end up being totally ‘around the house news’ after all but some FL news included above. I hope that I can get around and say hello to some of you today. Wishing everyone a great day.

P.S. I forgot to add, Bella my Rottie nosed the opening in the window enough to jump out and scare us half to death with her obsession with other dogs. The window was just cracked enough for some air, well she pushed it open to get her 100+ muscle body out and run. Needless to say, the dog and owner were terrified. No harm done....Thank the Lord. It was scary there for a moment.

Q -- not to change the tone from all this emphasis on bipartisanship, but there have been now three sponsors to a measure to censure you for the implementation of that program. The primary sponsor, Russ Feingold, has suggested that impeachment is not out of the question. And on Sunday, the number two Democrat in the Senate refused to rule that out pending an investigation. What, sir, do you think the impact of the discussion of impeachment and censure does to you and this office, and to the nation during a time of war, and in the context of the election?

THE PRESIDENT: I think during these difficult times -- and they are difficult when we're at war -- the American people expect there to be a honest and open debate without needless partisanship. And that's how I view it. I did notice that nobody from the Democrat Party has actually stood up and called for getting rid of the terrorist surveillance program. You know, if that's what they believe, if people in the party believe that, then they ought to stand up and say it. They ought to stand up and say the tools we're using to protect the American people shouldn't be used. They ought to take their message to the people and say, vote for me, I promise we're not going to have a terrorist surveillance program. That's what they ought to be doing. That's part of what is an open and honest debate.

I did notice that, at one point in time, they didn't think the Patriot Act ought to be reauthorized -- "they" being at least the Minority Leader in the Senate. He openly said, as I understand -- I don't want to misquote him -- something along the lines that, "We killed the Patriot Act." And if that's what the party believes, they ought to go around the country saying we shouldn't give the people on the front line of protecting us the tools necessary to do so. That's a debate I think the country ought to have.

Cashman and Connors Make Me Wonder

Humm...... Makes you Wonder About Lenient Judges Soft on Sex Offenders

I am beginning to wonder if law enforcement might need to consider investigating a few of these judges that allow sex predators to walk free. Immediately, I think of Vermont's Disgusting Judge Cashman and now Ohio's Drunk Convicted Judge John Connors. Wonder what police may find on these judge's personal computers or perhaps uncover... if they have nasty little secrets?

Well, Cashman knows what he is talking about. Even with all the pressure on Vermont, the legislature failed to pass mandatory minimums for child sexual predators. The effort was blocked by DEMOCRATS, and Republican Gov. Jim Douglas refused to get involved.

Can you believe that Judge Connors was "Irishman of the Year" in the St. Patrick's Day parade? Yes, it is true. Neighbors of Selva and others protested at the parade, unfortunately the majority of citizens in Columbus, Ohio are supporting Judge Connors and his decision to allow Selva a convicted sex predator to have probation with home arrest. Judge Connors has 16 sex offenders on probation currently. What is wrong with this picture? Do you feel perhaps a few of these judges need to be investigated? I do, absolutely. Something stinks about these plea deals.

SAN DIEGO (AP) Camera phones are now banned at the Children's Hospital and Health Center's convalescent unit. The curtains around patients must be left open most of the time. And administrators are considering installing security cameras in patients' rooms.
The precautions were prompted by one man: Wayne Albert Bleyle, a respiratory therapist accused of molesting brain-damaged, comatose boys and girls, taking cell-phone photos of himself in the act, and posting them on the Internet.

"This is the worst case of child molestation imaginable," prosecutor Laura Gunn said in court last week. "I don't know if we've ever seen a case like it before where the victims were so vulnerable."
Bleyle, 54, is in jail on $5 million bail after pleading not guilty to two counts of child molestation and 24 counts of child pornography. But Gunn said Bleyle molested many more patients over the past decade, preying on the hospital's weakest of the weak, including youngsters who would never be able to speak.

Ohio Judge No Secret

Wonder what Dayton Daily News thinks about their Cartoonist publishing this one? For ones that are not aware of DDN please read below. The following statement is from Bill O'Reilly's home page.

What newspaper in the United States of America is most friendly to child rapists? Could it be the Dayton Daily News which has supported Judge John Connor's sentence of probation for a man who raped a 5 year old boy and a 12 year old boy over a 3 year period.

Not only that... but the Dayton Daily News attacked the Governor of Ohio, the Attorney General of Ohio and Bill O'Reilly for reporting the story and actually asking for the removal of Judge Connor. The vicious personal attacks launched by the Dayton Daily News were strange when contrasted to the lack of condemnation for the judge.

So, can one conclude therefore that the Dayton Daily News is a newspaper that has sympathy for child rapists and the judges who will not incarcerate them?

ABCs and HIV

Kindergarten children learn about HIV passed by the states to be taught in public schools. One child told his mother crying I have HIV. The small child was confused with washing his hands and kissing the little girl down the street. Regardless if the parents opt out or not, the young ones will misconstrue the class as they talk with their friends. Do you think that our babies need to be informed on HIV and then fourth graders learning the sexual part of it? Info with links

As we watched our televisions this week, here we are in total shock again. Another story of horror, there is another convicted sex offender in front of our eyes, let out early to feed his addiction. How outrageous for Kenneth Hinson in S.C. to be free to roam around then kidnap/abduct and rape young girls from their OWN HOMES AND BED asleep. Can you imagine sleeping in your own bed feeling safe? I guess we should remember about Elizabeth Smart safe in her home and bed.

In 1991, Kenneth Hinson was convicted for raping a 12 yr old girl sentenced to prison. Since his ‘unheard of’ early release in 2000, police now wonder if there may be other victims. Hinson built a dungeon/torture chamber underground and had full intent to kill these young girls. Police found where Hinson had concealed the trap door by placing bags of cement and a workbench on top, where it would have been virulently impossible to be detectable. All the air vents/ducks to this dungeon/torture chamber were intentionally sealed. The police say it is amazing they survived.

Fox reports a neighbors statement "I slept good last night," said Argeree Cooks, who lives with her four grandchildren just down the street from Hinson's property. She said she had been sleeping with a hammer and a gun within reach all week.

After a four-day manhunt, Hinson with a loaded handgun, was finally arrested two miles away from his home. It is a good thing that he did not have an escape plan otherwise the officials may still be searching for him. Hinson planned to commit these crimes without being caught, and never expected the girls to escape alive.

This is another reason why The Child Safety Act should be passed quickly in the U.S. Senate May 2006. First of all, this monster should have never been released, but if Jessica’s Law was in South Carolina this could have been avoided.

In Mississippi billboards picturing sex offenders are being erected but not without debate and the ACLU trying to stop it.
Excerpts below:
"Nsombi Lambright, who heads the American Civil Liberties Union in Mississippi, has called the move a waste of taxpayer funds. She has questioned the logic of using convicts who are serving sentences and whose information goes public on the sex offender registry list."

About 100 billboards are going up statewide. That includes three large billboards in Jackson, Gulfport and Hattiesburg, and smaller ones in the Jackson area and elsewhere around the state.

The signs use photographs of sex offenders currently serving time.And so far, the public, at least in Mississippi, seems to be behind the department - sometimes with a have-no-mercy attitude.

P.S. I am having difficulties right now with this post...trying to get it published. Anyone else still having problems?? This has been going on since Wed night.....Time to get it fixed.

My Side of the Story

Yesterday was a very difficult day for me. It is hard to understand for some people what victims and their families must go through each and everyday as they struggle to go forward. I can’t completely explain to you what motivates me to keep pushing for people to help and protect children except for two reasons that come to my mind; for one I feel God has given me a purpose perhaps through this blog to get the messages out and the other from my own horrible personal experiences. I know ones get tired of seeing despicable posts about sex predators, rapists and Lord knows disgusting incompetent judges constantly highlighted here with me pleading for ones to contact the proper officials to change laws and do whatever is necessary for the protection of our nation’s children. Behind the scenes, I see people seeking information through search engines and that shows me that apparently not many are reporting this - for them to find me-this blog. Just recently I discovered that if you type in “HR4472” under Google “BLOG SEARCH” (The child safety Act for ones that are not aware) only two blogs appeared, mine and Blogs For Fox . I found that very disturbing, maybe because HR4472 was in the titles of our posts, I am not really sure.

It has been so many years ago now, but it is a memory that never really goes away. My choice was to take the positive road and get beyond my experiences with doing something in my life instead of going down the road of destruction. Our Lord and a friend helped me see the fork in the road back then for two choices. Even though these days’ people are speaking out about things that happened to them back in the 80’s and before, it still holds a stigma of feeling as if you are tainted or it was your fault in some way. I was fondled repeatedly as a young child by a relative then harshly disciplined due to my defiance to be obedient. (I am putting this mildly to say the very least) Back then, children were not taught, to talk with their parents or discuss such subjects as this, you as a child tried to handle an adult with a child mind for defense and try to avoid that person and other times just acting out hoping someone would notice that something was wrong. Later on, it lead to drugs and doing things that I wish now, I would have done differently. I ended up marrying an abusive husband for a short period of time and during my separation, like Natalee Hollaway or the girl in N.Y. I was out drinking having fun late night and I became one out of 3 women according to the statics. (1 out of 3)

It was after midnight with a few hours left of darkness and I headed to my car. An acquaintance of my ex-husband called me over to a vehicle and said he needed to talk with me. It was freezing cold and by his insistence encouraged me to sit in a (his?) car with the heater on, well before I knew what was happening two other guys jumped in that I did not know. (Abducted) No one could hear my screams or pleading down the long dirt road in the woods along the intercoastal waterway that was on the water edge of the island I lived on. Threats were made that an anchor was next for me and all I could do was pray and look up for the sunrise to come. Back then rape victims had almost zero chance of getting a conviction of a rapist(s), actually the rapist became the victim and the victim would be drug through the dirt. No DNA, no witnesses, he said she said and then your reputation was ruined.

Well, I moved on with goals to be happy, positive, and most importantly protect my children against what I had endured as a child and educate them to be able to tell me anything no matter what. A few people in my life summed up their theory on why I would not commit to marriage during the time I was rearing my children, and they were probably right. I never wanted to be blinded by love for someone that may harm my children in any way or bring someone in their life that may alter my goals on raising them with love, understanding, and my firm determination for them to grow up in a safe environment. My plan developed as I went along teaching them how to love, know God, laugh, have morals, manners, respect, stand up for what you believe in, and never let someone take advantage of you. Even to this day, I remind them constantly to be aware of their surrounding, being observant, be careful, listen to your instincts, pray for guidance, watch who you trust, beware of what is happening, etc. I could go on and on with my mission for them and everyone else that wishes to listen.

When I publish posts involving sexual abuse and I see ones “I know” come in my blog and exit without acknowledging or stating how wrong this is for sex predators to walk freely among us, pretending that this cannot happen to them or their children, and/or this is a nasty subject for them, etc. (I don't know the reason why honestly that these posts are different than any other to them) I become sad, angry, disappointed, discouraged, outraged, and a flood of mixed emotions takes over me. I try telling myself that they are taking action, if nothing else at the very least.... because we are friends online and this means a great deal to me. It is obvious when I post about it regularly and have in my profile that I am an advocate for helping to pass tougher laws to protect our children, I don’t have to do this. However, one day I may have grandchildren or a beautiful child that lives next door that I love that need these laws to make sure that we are putting these monsters in jail for life. THERE IS NO CURE!! The children's future is in our hands, so what are we going to do about it? I don’t want to think that people I have enacted with for a long time, truly feels that these criminals should be able to get by with this and/or they support the predators due to many reasons if it be viewing it as a non-issue, a political view, or whatever the reason. Unfortunately, this has become a partisan issue too, it has been revealed that the judges that are giving these monsters lenient sentences are liberals and this is a fact. I still shake my head at decent, caring, level headed adults, parents or not that condone this epidemic of unthinkable acts.

This post is long, I want to thank the ones that have always been here for me when I post one of these horrible injustices against children, ones that have written emails, have linked or posted in regards to this and everything in between from support, understanding and the friendship I feel towards you, and you know who you are. I never thought I would ever get the courage to write this post about my own experiences. I’m going to have to re-group and take a deep breath before I can continue.

I could never be a journalist because I could not report without crying. For an hour and half listening live to the Florida Judge sentence Joseph Smith and describe what poor little Carlie went through from the moment she was abducted to her last breath, I can not stop weeping. At least in Florida he will be swiftly executed in about 2 yrs where California is 24 to 25 years. Florida has tough laws and will not tolerate sex predators, thank GOD!!! Don’t you wish your state started taking action against these monsters and passing laws to keep your children safe?
I am not sure if I can visit the rest of the day.

Rehabilitation or Revenge?

Wow, what a show. You were burning up our e-mail with your comments regarding the segment with Terry Sherman, the attorney for Andrew Selva.

In January 2004, Selva was indicted on a series of rapes involving oral and anal sex with two boys ages 5 and 12. Selva had helped the boys' families come to America from Asia. In a plea deal, Selva was allowed to plead guilty to two counts of sexual battery. Ohio Judge John Connor labeled Selva a sexual predator — the most severe of the sexual offender categories.

"Mr. Selva does meet the criteria of a sexual predator," said Judge Connor. Why then did the judge bypass jail and give Selva house arrest? According to the judge, "He's (Selva) got a disease like I've got a disease. I don't know what prison would have helped, except for revenge and revenge is not in the sentencing guidelines." I’m not sure what disease the judge was referring to regarding himself, but he has been convicted twice for DUI and arrested for DUI up to eight times.

Selva’s attorney, Terry Sherman, joined us on "FOX & Friends" this morning. Sherman claims Selva can be rehabilitated and cited expert testimony. He continued to point out that Selva pleaded guilty to sexual battery, but would not deny that Selva had raped these young boys in the worst possible ways. What Can We Do About Ohio's Judge Connor?

So what are we going to do about Ohio Judge John Connor? That is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points Memo."

In just a few moments, we'll hear from the parents of two young people killed by a repeat drunk driver who Judge Connor would not incarcerate. This is the same Connor whom we confronted over the weekend after he sentenced a child rapist to probation. No prison time at all. The rapist, Andrew Selva, admitted to abusing two boys in the worst possible way ages five and 12 repeatedly over three years, and Connor lets him walk.

Why? Here is what Connor said:

"He's got a disease like I've got a disease. I don't know that prison would have helped, except for revenge and revenge is not in the sentencing guidelines."

Connor might be referring to his own alcohol problem. He has been convicted twice for DUI, arrested for that at least or possibly eight times. We can't nail it down. But that doesn't matter. Connor's life doesn't matter. The main problem is that that judge will not protect children or adults. He is simply unfit for the bench.

The two boys who were raped were poor. They are the immigrant children. Their parents are from Sri Lanka. If these boys had been rich, Connor never would have dared to give the child rapist probation. Connor could have given the predator 10 years, which is still not nearly enough for destroying two kids.

But again, Judge Connor does not believe in punishing adults who rape children. So what are we going to do about this? We have to do something.

In Vermont, public opinion forced Judge Edward Cashman, another loopy jurist, to up his sentence for a child rapist from 60 days to three years. You remember that the governor of Vermont, Jim Douglas, refused to get involved in the case and subsequently the Vermont legislature killed a proposed Jessica's Law. That is to Vermont's ever-lasting shame.

Will Ohio behave the same way? "Talking Points" is asking all Americans to get in touch with Ohio Governor Bob Taft and urge him to drive action against Judge Connor. You can reach Governor Taft by going to billoreilly.com where we have established a link directly to his office.

Those of you living in Franklin County, Ohio, where Connor presides, we urge you -- urge you -- to sign a petition to remove him. Again, billoreilly.com will have that information.

Ladies and gentlemen, enough is enough. We all have to get involved and send a message to every judge in America. Child rape is a brutal crime that must be punished harshly. Ignore that dictum at your peril.

Feb. 24: Jason McElwain, a 17-year-old senior at Greece-Athena High School near Rochester, N.Y. , is autistic and usually sits on his basketball team’s bench. But he scored 20 points in four minutes in his team's home finale. Full Story and Video

McElwain, who is autistic, was back in his role as an all-around motivator on the eve of a sectional semifinal game Tuesday night — handing out water bottles, dispensing tips, helping run drills. Two weeks earlier, he suited up for a game and delivered a jaw-dropping performance.

His play drew national attention, and a flood of calls from Hollywood. His parents have received inquiries from about 25 production companies ranging from The Walt Disney Co. and Warner Bros. to independent documentary filmmakers.

“I don’t know what I’m walking into,” McElwain said.

In his team’s final home game of the season, McElwain entered with four minutes to go. It was his first and only appearance for the Athena varsity team in this Rochester suburb. The 5-foot-6 manager hit six 3-point shots and a 2-pointer and was carried off the court on his teammates’ shoulders.

It is so wonderful and touching to hear about stories like this, way to go Jason!!! He is what you call a REAL STAR!!!!
