Shocking Numbers of Muslims Converting to Christianity

I can not allow the New Year to come in without bringing attention to a post written by Joel C. Rosenberg. It has been on my mind all week since I read it aloud to my daughter. We were both so emotionally touched, astonished at the numbers, it was just down right shocking..... but, at the same time what a blessing and to know that this is really happening. I had no idea of this information, and you would probably not either, if you depend on the mainstream media to report on things like this.

I am going to paste excerpts, but I highly recommend all to go over and read the whole post.....You will come away feeling good and knowing that God is truly working throughout this world that we NOW live in.

More Muslims converted to faith in Jesus Christ over the past decade than at any other time in human history. A spiritual revolution is underway throughout North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. As a result, a record number of ex-Muslims are celebrating Christmas this year, despite intense persecution, arrests, assassinations, and widespread church bombings.

Joel and his family lived in the Mideast for three months during the time he wrote his latest book, Epicenter. During that time through interviews and research, he gathered this information and posted the results of numbers broken down with several countries listed on his blog i.e. Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Sudan and Iran. Joel continues with other information that will blow your mind. Praise God!!

Iraq:more than 5,000 new Muslim converts to Christianity have been identified since the end of major combat operations, with 14 new churches opened in Baghdad, and dozens of new churches opened in Kurdistan, some of which have 500 to 800 members. Also, more than 1 million Bibles shipped into the country since 2003, and pastors report Iraqis are snatching them up so fast they constantly need more Bibles.

Joel listed Egypt next and reports about the Egyptain Bible Society and the high demand for Jesus in film and the Arabic New Testaments. I just have to show you this next excerpt for ones of you that I know may not click over....I feel this needs to be shared with ones out there that may be reading this.

The Egyptian Bible Society told me they used to sell about 3,000 copies of the JESUS film a year in the early 1990s. But last year they sold 600,000 copies, plus 750,000 copies of the Bible on tape (in Arabic) and about a half million copies of the Arabic New Testament.

There is more information in each country that Joel has broken down but, look at those numbers I just listed....WOW!!

Afghanistan:only 17 Muslim converts to Christianity before 9/11/01, but now more than 10,000. Dozens of baptisms every week.

I am skipping over a ton of wonderful news and wish I could list more, but I do want to give you a few more excerpts.

Sudan: more than 1 million Sudanese have converted to Christianity just since 2000, and some 5 million have become Christians since the early 1990s, despite a radical Islamic regime and an on-going genocide that has killed more than 200,000. Seminaries are being held in caves to train pastors to shepherd the huge numbers of people coming to Christ. Why such a dramatic spiritual awakening? "People have seen real Islam, and they want Jesus instead," one Sudanese evangelical leader told me.

Did you read that in red....That is AWESOME. Joel goes on to facts about Iran and explains how many people that are converting there are having to go to underground house churches.

All I can say is Praise God and please..... this is a post you do not want to miss. Joel speaks about Muslims turning to Jesus in alarming numbers. Here comes another excerpt...I just can't help it...I want to spread this good news....in case you are not a regular reader of Joel's blog.

December 2001, Sheikh Ahmad al Qataani, a leading Saudi cleric, appeared on a live interview on Aljazeera satellite television to confirm that, sure enough, Muslims were turning to Jesus in alarming numbers. "In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity," Al Qataani warned. "Every day, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity."
Stunned, the interviewer interrupted the cleric. "Hold on! Let me clarify. Do we have six million converting from Islam to Christianity?" Al Qataani repeated his assertion. "Every year," the cleric confirmed, adding, "a tragedy has happened."
One of the most dramatic developments is that many Muslims -- including Shiites in Iran and Iraq -- are seeing dreams and visions of Jesus and thus coming into churches explaining that they have already converted and now need a Bible and guidance on how to follow Jesus.[read more]

WooHoo My Most Visitors in One Day

Wow, yesterday was a record breaker for me since I started blogging, 2,558 visitors in 24 hours.
On Aug 22, 2006, I thought it was going to be my all time high record and it would be hard to ever beat, and it was just over 1500, more if I added a few days before and after into the numbers around that date. That was about Iran and the significance of August 22 involving Ahmadinejad ramblings. Anyhoo....It was sweet watching the meter....and it is still running full blast, it seems many are searching for more information on this historical event of Saddam leaving this planet FOR GOOD.

Will be UPDATING THIS SOON: I am stunned and shocked that I have doubled the above record and it is not midnight yet. WOW...WEE!! Unfreakin believable!!

You Must Read "Celebrating Justice" by Iraq the Model

I haven't been on the computer much today, but it seems Saddam's departure from this world is where my search for more news has been directed. Perhaps it is like...seeing a devil, that he was, taken out of this world. Dead... over and gone!! Saddam was as if Satan had personally spit him out of his own mouth, that is how evil this man was. Last night, while waiting for the breaking news of Saddam's execution, I wrote a post about how I felt there would be celebrations and meant to add that a spike in violence was most likely not to occur. Most importantly, my feeling were that I had hoped and still do that Iraqis will thank our brave troops and President Bush for freeing them from this evil dictator. Also, while updating yesterday, I wrote about the victims and their families....For us that have lived in freedom our entire life have no idea what it is like to be terrified daily living under a dictatorship. We have so much to be thankful for and do not forget how blessed we are to live in freedom. God Bless America!!

So tonight, when I brought up my screen to Memeorandum, immediately I noticed Iraq the Model had posted again......Celebrating Justice.... it is definitely a MUST READ. Please check it out, you will be touched as I was.....that.. I am sure. Below is an excerpt from the posting:

Saddam drew his path to hell long time ago…he chose this fate the day he chose cruelty and oppression as a way to deal with his people. He built his reign with blood and terror and vowed to make death the fate of anyone who dared say no to him.
Saddam lost his humanity the day he committed his first crime, so the one I saw walking to the rope this morning was no man to me.
It was him who rejected humanity to become the monster that the weak feared and prayed to see him dead for years to be safe from his crimes.
Outside Iraq people will divide over his hanging, just like they divided over his life and rule but here in Iraq most of us feel that today justice has been served. Those who mourn him are a few and are still living in the past that has no future in Iraq.
To those who didn’t like justice I say that his death means life to many.Executing the dictator renews the hopes of not only Iraqis but also of other oppressed peoples in the world in having a better future where they enjoy freedom. A New Beginning for Iraq after Saddam's death?

It may not be reported and/or aired on the MSM, but I feel there will be great celebrations among the Iraqi people thanking our U.S. Troops and President Bush. I plan to watch any video released and feel I should in honor of the sacrifices our military has made to free Iraq and make Iraq and our country safer.

I hope that we will witness the joy and relief of the people of Iraq. Iraq citizens living in the U.S. are gathering now as I write this waiting on the execution of the "Butcher of Baghdad", Saddam Hussein.

We will see....Let us hope that the AP and Reuters will report accurately of what the true reactions of the majority of people feel, once Saddam is dead.

Butcher of Baghdad in Custody of Iraqis

Saddam Hussein has been handed-over to Iraqi Authories by U.S. troops. The former president of Iraq, the evil dictator, known also as the "Butcher of Baghdad, Saddam Hussein will dangle within hours from a rope. The death sentence has been signed by PM Al-Maliki and this imminent execution should take place within hours. This mass murderers' day has come and Saddam has said he will be smiling, perhaps because he will join his two evil sons very soon.An Iraqi judge said "Saddam to be Executed by Saturday."

"Saddam will be executed today or tomorrow," said Munir Haddad, a judge on the appeals court that upheld Saddam's death sentence. "All the measures have been done."
Haddad is authorized to attend the execution on behalf of the judiciary.
"I am ready to attend and there is no reason for delays," Haddad said.

Hopefully, he prayed for forgiveness to our real God in Jesus' name.

My thoughts are with the people that have suffered terribly, lost loved ones, have been tortured, scared, terrified for their lives, some for their entire life, women that have been raped, beaten...... these horrible crimes can be listed forever from weapons of mass destruction Saddam used on his own people, the mass graves of all the murdered.........This is justice, in a form of death, this execution of Saddam Hussein and I only hope and pray that all the other evil dictators in the world take note... that this may one day be their destiny.

I feel we did the right thing freeing the Iraqi people from this evil, one of the worst of the worst tyrants and his henchmen. Our prayers should be with all his victims and families that are still alive today that know and have experienced first hand how horrifying life under Saddam's rule was.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The official witnesses to Saddam Hussein's impending execution gathered Friday in Baghdad's fortified Green Zone in final preparation for his hanging, as state television broadcast footage of his regime's atrocities.

Sitting and Waiting here......All the arrangements have been made, witnesses are taking their places and have gathered in the green zone, troops are on high alert, Iraqi officials have dotted their i's and crossed their t's......it is coming down. Saddam Hussein will be dead come tomorrow, when most Iraqis will be waking up to this news.

*UPDATE* Via Breitbart: (excerpt) State television, which spent Friday evening preparing the public for Saddam's death by playing footage of torture and murder carried out by his forces, said the execution would take place between 5:30 am and 6:00 am.

Via FoxNews: (excerpt) Saddam's chief lawyer said the U.S. had turned over custody of the mass murderer to Iraqi officials, one of the last steps necessary before the execution. An Iraqi parliamentarian, Methal Al Aloser, backed up the lawyer's claims. Al Aloser said not only had Saddam been handed over, but all papers and documents were finalized and the execution will be soon.

WooHoo, My favorite Sheriff Joe Arpaio has convicted rapist, ear biting boxer, sex-offender, Mike Tyson under his custody in Maricopa County, Arizona. What a place for Mike Tyson to take up residence, now Tyson can look forward to pink underwear and working for his food once convicted again.

America's Toughest Sheriff, Joe Arpaio had Mike Tyson registered as a sex offender in his county and it looks at this point police nabbed Tyson with cocaine in his back pocket and in his BMW while driving drunk; he may be living with many illegal aliens at tent city in the near future. A great place for him to go to, you can rest assured he will work not a club med prison.

Boxer Mike Tyson is free this morning but undergoing drug and alcohol monitoring after telling police he has a cocaine problem "and uses it anytime he can get his hands on it."Tyson, 40, was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence 1:45 a.m. Friday in downtown Scottsdale by a Buckeye police officer working as part of a DUI holiday task force.

Tyson deserves to be behind bars, he is always been dangerous and still is!!.....Additionally, how stupid is Tyson telling the police all that he did, he must want to serve time in prison again. Well, I am sure after his court proceedings, he will sure wish... he had been sober and in another county that is sure, if of course found guilty; it seems pretty obvious by the reports that he was....caught red handed.

Convict Wannabee Cindy Arrested Once Again this time in Crawford

Yeah, Cindy Sheehan is getting quite a rap sheet with her arrests adding up. That must not mean much to Sheehan though, because she claims she plans on becoming more "confrontational" and "ramping up" her efforts. Thursday, Cindy and friends (four other protesters) were arrested and charged with blocking President Bush's ranch road. She later bonded out from McLennan County Jail in Waco after being charged with the misdemeanor of obstructing a highway. The five idiots had their sit in and did not budge when repeated requests were made for them to move. The Texas Dept. of Public Safety Lt. R.T. King said "They weren't going unless they were arrested." The troopers had to carry them off the road to a ditch alongside, and used gentler handcuffs than they would normally use for protests.

This stunt was considered a "Peace Surge" to bring attention and hopefully cameras about concerns, that President Bush may send more troops to Iraq. Cindy and demostrators said they had expected to get arrested and placed in jail.

“He’s a serial murderer,” she said, just before being placed in a patrol car with her sister.

When is this mental case ever going away or be put away for good? By the way, this is her first arrest at the Bush ranch, now Sheehan can add Crawford, Tx to her other locations including Washington D.C. for her resume. More on this story at Waco Tribune-Herald.

Earlier this month in New York, Sheehan was convicted of trespassing for leading a protest across the street from the United Nations.

John Edwards Bid for Prez is a Bad Re-run

John Edwards announces more than once his 2008 candidacy and intentions for being the Commander in Chief come next presidential election. Oh Boy, what a nightmare, just the thought of it. Wonder if he is getting pointers from Jimmy Carter and/or still hanging tight with John Kerry.
This is one re-run we really don't won't to have to re-watch. It is going to be difficult to tune him out for awhile, watch as he grooms himself for the camera from here on out.

Jose Luis Garcia Sabrido, an intestinal specialist, travelled to the Caribbean island on Thursday aboard an aircraft chartered by the Cuban government, according to Spain's left-leaning El Periodico de Catalunya newspaper.
The plane carried medical equipment not available in Cuba in case the leader needs further surgery due to his progressively failing health, the newspaper reported.

Afghan Taliban Leader DEAD by U.S. Strike

KABUL, Afghanistan - A top Taliban military commander described as a close associate of Osama bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Omar was killed in an airstrike this week close to the border with Pakistan, the U.S. military said Saturday. A Taliban spokesman denied the claim.

ABC News reports: Christmas came early for NATO troops fighting in Afghanistan.
The U.S. military announced Saturday that it has killed Mullah Akhtar Mohammed Osmani, the most senior Taliban leader to be eliminated since American troops invaded Afghanistan in 2001.
A U.S. military spokesman said a targeted air strike hit Osmani as he traveled in a vehicle near the Pakistan border in southern Helmand province. Killed with him were two associates also in the vehicle.

UNITED NATIONS — The U.N. Security Council unanimously approved a resolution Saturday imposing sanctions against Iran for refusing to suspend uranium enrichment, culminating two months of negotiations aimed at pressuring Tehran to clarify its nuclear ambitions.

TEHRAN, Dec 23, 2006 (AFP) - A hardline Iranian daily Saturday called on the government to withdraw from the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty if the UN Security Council agrees sanctions against Tehran over its controversial atomic programme.
"Our officials should use this opportunity to punish the West and announce Iran's withdrawal from the NPT right after the resolution is adopted. Rest assured that nothing terrible will happen," said the Kayhan daily.
"The opponent is pointing an empty gun at us and this is a hollow threat," said the editorial by the paper's editor Hossein Shariatmadari, who is appointed by supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Do you believe in the tooth fairy? If so, you will probably believe this sanction will work and Russia, who is assisting Iran will be tough....what a joke!!

Pelosi Attempting to Limit Coverage by C-Span

Obviously, Liberal Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca), speaker-to-be of the House, does not want us to see certain things happening in the Congress, she has cited the need to restrict coverage by C-Span to limited camera control.

WASHINGTON — Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi cited the need to preserve the "dignity and decorum" of the House as she rejected a request Friday that C-SPAN operate its own cameras in covering the chamber.

Since 1979, TV coverage of gavel to gavel has been provided by the public service network of the House of Representatives. The Senate has been televised since 1986. C-Span's chairman and chief executive Brian Lamb told Pelosi "from taking individual reaction shots or from panning the chamber, leaving viewers with an incomplete picture of what's happening in the House of Representives" and he added he was "very disappointed" by this decision.

It is disgusting enough to have to watch Harry Reid brag about killing the Patriot Act and voting against English being our national language, however we the people are entitled to see what the heck is going on up there in the Senate and THE HOUSE!! In my opinion, we should also know all their hidden privileges and it should be an open and easy book to find this information.

Mr. Lamb sought permission for C-SPAN to use its own cameras. Second, he asked Mrs. Pelosi to "release individual House votes electronically immediately after voting periods have closed."
One big reason why Mr. Lamb wants to use C-SPAN cameras relates to the fact that congressional technicians now operating the House cameras are "limited to taking static, head-on shots of the representative who's speaking at the podium" during debates. Because congressional cameras cannot pan the chamber during House debates, C-SPAN viewers cannot see the reaction shots of members or the floor-lobbying tactics that are witnessed by anybody watching the debate from the gallery.

The Kremlin Seeks Influence and Control in Turkmenistan

After the sudden death of Pres. Saparmurad A. Niyazov, 66, of two decades of power with no successor...... now it is a showdown between the WEST and RUSSIA. This former ruler was named and handpicked by The People's Council of loyalists, named president of Turkmenistan, a position for LIFE, and he was referred to as ruling with an IRON HAND, now obviously, there is no heir to take his place. Not only is Turkmenistan's population estimated of about 5 million people, but what makes this such a power struggle is...... TURKMENISTAN is considered the world's fifth (5th) largest natural gas reserve and is a major supplier, actually Russia is piped the gas first, then it is resold from Russia. Humm!!

Most news sources are reporting encourgment of CALM over this shift of power and uncertainity involving Turkmenistan.

Ashgabat streets were deserted on Saturday, with music banned at public places and children not allowed to play outside. Vendors at markets were told to wear hats or scarves and not to speak or laugh too loud.

Security checkpoints outside Ashgabat were tightened and villagers who came to sell products at city markets were being turned away. Weddings, other celebrations and sporting events were canceled.

Niyazov, who died Thursday after two decades of rule that produced an all-encompassing personality cult, left no apparent preferred successor.

Turkmenistan is about the size of California (slightly larger), prodominantly Muslim, and its close neighbors are RUSSIA, Uzbekistan and IRAN. The capital, Ashgabat, is located almost on the northern border line with Iran.

So presently, this former Soviet republic's enormous petroleum and gas reserves country will become more of a focus between the West and Russia and elections of who will take over as the President.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a condolence message that “strengthening our partnership is in the true interests of the peoples of Russia and Turkmenistan.” And President Bush said the U.S. hopes “to expand our relations with Turkmenistan.” via Boston Globe

How far will Putin/Kremlin go to take control of this country with all its resources? I am keeping a close eye on this one....
P.S. There are some really weird things about this former leader....sorta like Kim Jong Il....a real sicko!!

Yes, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) is behind this interstate billboard near Boynton Beach-Delray Beach line, in Palm Beach county along I-95 in south Florida. Drivers headed northbound can not miss it, having this in their face, "Explore the life of the Prophet Muhammad" with the website of cair.com.

CAIR, a national civil rights group, estimates about 70,000 Muslims live in South Florida, with about 7 million in the United States.

Unbelievable!!! Before you know it.... these signs will be going up everywhere......The day will be coming to where it will be embrace or lose your head.

As Secretary-General Annan prepares to leave his post at the United Nations, a mystery is surfacing surrounding his apartment on Roosevelt Island, subsidized by New York taxpayers, which is still in use by the family of his brother, Kobina Annan.
The apartment was where Mr. Annan and his wife lived before 1997, when he became secretary-general. The Roosevelt Island home is part of an estate of low-rent state-regulated housing. For years, the Annans saved considerable sums by occupying an apartment meant to help financially strapped low- to moderate-income New York families.

Oh.....and the story gets deeper....

But the issue is pertinent because Kofi Annan, whose wife comes from one of Sweden's wealthier families, has spent years lecturing Americans on how the well-heeled have obligations to those less fortunate. Fearing for their LIfe: Iranian Students and Protesters

Can you even imagine the bravery of these young people standing up to this crazy madman Ahmadinejah and the Iranian regime?
Guardian: Iranian student activists who staged an angry protest against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last week have gone into hiding in fear for their lives after his supporters threatened them with revenge.
One student fled after being photographed holding a banner reading, "Fascist president, the polytechnic is not for you", during Mr Ahmadinejad's visit to Tehran's Amir Kabir university. At least three others have gone underground after being seen burning his picture. Vigilantes from the militant Ansar-e Hezbollah group have been searching for them. [read more]

These demonstrations have been going on for some time, however starting last Monday, the student activists and Basij militia crowds have sparked violent clashes between the groups. One student threw a shoe at Ahmadinejah where others have chanted ""Death to the dictator." More from the article.....

"He threatened us directly, saying that what we were doing was against the wishes of the nation," said Babak Zamanian, a spokesman for Amir Kabir university's Islamic students' committee. "After that, the students protested even more sharply, calling him a lying religious dictator and shouting, 'Forget America and start thinking about us!'
"We were chanting, 'Get lost Ahmadinejad!' and 'Ahmadinejad - element of discrimination and corruption.' You could see from his face that he was really shocked. He wasn't flashing his usual smile, and at one stage I thought he was going to cry. He told his supporters to respond with a religious chant hailing Ahmadinejad, but he was so shaken he was actually chanting it himself."

We should be so thankful that we are blessed to live and are free in the best country in the world, the United States. Can you even imagine living under such oppression? Wow, it is truly amazing how many people take this blessing for grantite.

Hopeful for Mt Hood Missing Climbers to be Found Alive

Yesterday, I watched for hours as the brave rescuers, as I would say heros, searched on MT Hood in freezing cold and dangerous conditions for hopefully finding alive the three missing mountain climbers. At one moment, it was so exciting that they had found a snow cave and then news turned to the very worst, one of the men were found dead.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and families of Kelly James, 48, Brian Hall, 37, and Jerry "Nikko" Cooke, 36-years old. Let us pray that we see a Christmas miracle and today the search teams find alive the two remaining men. Lord....I sure hope so.

Saturday O/T and Assorted Headlines

Wow, I have missed posting several top stories in the news the last couple days and it sure has been some crazy things going on.
As always, waiting to the last minute, I've been in the traffic and crowds out shopping. Since it is raining today in south Florida, hopefully this afternoon I can possibly catch up some.....keeping my fingers crossed.

Not OLIVE GARDEN TOO?? Is E.coli the culprit, reports say they don't believe there is a connection. Obviously ones here in south Florida is not bothered by Taco Bell, I noticed near the mall yesterday,....cars were lined up at the drive-thru!!

ON to........... TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE!!!

One thing that has me really riled up is these idiot Liberal Senators, especially "wannabee president" John Kerry visiting and kissing-up to our enemies. I will have more on this to follow. This publicity stunt and getting camera coverage, that is what it is, around a Middle East Tour is way over the top and out of line. Who does he think he is? I doubt the planned visit for our soldiers....was a top priority...he wants a photo-op that is most likely his only reason for Iraq. Kerry makes me Nauseated!!
It is embarrassing enough and totally not helpful for Florida Senator Bill Nelson visiting Syrian President Assad, what was up with that? Add in the mix these Democrat lunatics going from Syria to Iran and even talking with N.Korea, they are, very well, jeopardizing our NATIONAL SECURITY. This just ticks me off.... big time.

Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh decides not to run for President...one less Democrat to listen to, that has to be a good thing.

Time is ticking for Fidel Castro, maybe less than a couple months....Woohoo....party time not far off in Miami!! Buddy Chavez spoke with the dictator on the phone but indicated it was about their oil deal.

Judith Regan Terminated....Fired as of immediately. O.J. Simpson's would-be publisher, Judith Regan, was fired Friday, well I'm sure O.J. could care less, he got his money and probably is still laughing. His day will come....that you can go to the bank on!!

So what if the execution of a KILLER is botched, as a result....now all Florida executions are on hold. The issue is about Cruel and Unusual Punishment, too bad these death row inmates did not think of that when it came to their victims. Actually, I think Old Sparky should get fired up, forget the simple little injections!!

Keep Rounding UP the ILLEGALS (CRIMINALS).....For ones that do not know, breaking the law is ILLEGAL and using others identity is too!! Great Job to our officials....please keep up the good work.

Sen. Tim Johnson in Critical Condition after Surgery

Senator Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) underwent emergency surgery last night and now is in critical condition at George Washington University hospital.

WASHINGTON - Democratic Sen. Tim Johnson was in critical condition early Thursday, a hospital official said, after late-night brain surgery that followed hospitalization for stroke-like symptoms.
Johnson was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday, just weeks after his party gained a one-seat Senate majority in midterm elections, effective Jan. 4, 2007.

Of course, Senator Johnson is in everyone's prayers, he is way too young to experience this unfortunate condition. This morning our First Lady, Laura Bush said "We're praying like I know all the people of South Dakota are for his very, very speedy recovery."

Apart from the risk to his health, Johnson's illness carried political ramifications. Democrats emerged from last month's elections with a 51-49 Senate majority. If he were forced to relinquish his seat, a replacement would be named by South Dakota's GOP Gov. Mike Rounds.
A Republican appointee would create a 50-50 tie, and allow the GOP to retain Senate control.

We will be keeping up with updates on Senator Johnson's condition and praying for the best. Many things can change if Sen. Johnson is forced to resign.

Incoming U.S. House Intel Chief Clueless on Terrorists

This is crazy, terrifying and insulting, but most importantly dangerous for our country.... when our own U.S. Representatives have no idea about one Muslim terrorist group from another, not to mention the fact that our soldiers are fighting a war on terror. After being quizzed, upcoming House Intelligence Chief, Rep. Silvestre Reyes is clueless on if Al-Qaeda is Sunni or Shiite? Huh? Reyes is, yet another, one of Nancy Pelosi's incompetent choices for a leadership role come January involving our country's intel. I also feel this is an insult to our military forces that have and is fighting these terrorist everyday to keep us safe as well as this dumbbutt. This just blows my mind!!

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas, who incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has tapped to head the Intelligence Committee when the Democrats take over in January, failed a quiz of basic questions about al Qaeda and Hezbollah, two of the key terrorist organizations the intelligence community has focused on since the September 11, 2001 attacks.
When asked by CQ National Security Editor Jeff Stein whether al Qaeda is one or the other of the two major branches of Islam -- Sunni or Shiite -- Reyes answered "they are probably both," then ventured "Predominantly -- probably Shiite."
That is wrong. Al Qaeda was founded by Osama bin Laden as a Sunni organization and views Shiites as heretics.Reyes could also not answer questions put by Stein about Hezbollah, a Shiite group on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations that is based in Southern Lebanon.

CQ National Security Editor Jeff Stein goes on to say.....

he was "amazed" by Reyes' lack of what he considers basic information about two of the major terrorists organizations.

He uses an example about baseball knowing the difference between the two teams, the Yankees and the Red Sox, if you were going to be the baseball commissioner.
Stein admits that Reyes is NOT THE ONLY ONE!!
This is VERY IMPORTANT FOLKS......ACTUALLY CRUCIAL to PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY....that we have a bunch of idiots in Washington not having basic information about who wants to kill us and willing to blow their self up to do it.
