TRACES of cocaine were found on Michael Jackson’s underwear during a police raid, it was revealed yesterday.
The discovery emerged as the troubled singer faced shock new claims that he is abusing and trafficking drugs.
Cops are secretly investigating allegations by former aides that Jacko, 47, is hooked on anti-depressants and painkillers.
They say he pops up to 40 pills a day — and was seen falling flat on his face after injecting himself with a mystery drug.
He is suspected of transporting drugs from California to Bahrain, where he currently lives, and obtaining them with fake prescriptions.

CNN airs Flipping Middle Finger

On The Drudge Report a link to http://www.politicalteen.net posted a picture, when I got in there the first time I should have saved it, now the server is down. It was aired people flipping the finger in protest to our President's speech this morning.

Last week as we all know CNN placed a big X on our VP. Right now I wish Fox News would place an X on John Kerry's speech that is putting me to sleep, but I guess that would be rude.

It's Winfrey's first visit to "Late Show," although she was twice Letterman's guest on his NBC show before the late-night comic moved to CBS in 1993. The origin of their "feud" was murky, although Letterman has frequently joked about her through the years. Letterman's failed 1995 stint as Academy Awards host is best remembered for his awkward "Oprah, Uma. Uma, Oprah" introduction.

For years I have watched David Letterman - The Late Show, but have found Jay Leno to be far more hilarious the last couple years. The change over occurred at the start of the Michael Jackson trial. My daughter and I laughed so hard we would cry, but we do plan on tuning in for this interview hopefully Dave is up for the hype. (smiling)

Restaurants: Children and Celebrities

My daughter works locally part-time as a server at a microbrewery restaurant while going to college. Even as a teenager, she always worked on our little island resort town during the summer season. She is a sweetheart, has a great attitude, beautiful smile, and has experience in giving customers great service; she is a professional at what she does. Ever so often, she comes home commenting that someone was very rude, the people complained about everything or the children were out of control but the most insulting was them not tipping correctly or not at all when she had given the customer great service.

We come from a family of good tippers, actually we sometimes tip more than the standard, usually it is closer to 20% if not more. Many times people do not realize that not everything that goes wrong is the server’s fault i.e. kitchen problems, staff shorthanded, waiting list, or additional customer demands exceeding the reasonable for one table, etc. Note: Servers are not personal slaves or hired to take abuse from the adults or children.

This brings me to a couple issues, etiquette and tipping. With raising my children, etiquette was a huge issue and still is. It is amazing what you witness in restaurants these days by children and the parents that allow them to act out like monkeys. Please explain to me why the parents allow this behavior! I have my own theories, but give me a break, it is obvious to me that they are not taught properly at home. Etiquette being taught to children is another post, another day hopefully I will express a few pointers in the future. It is disgusting to me to see parents sit there while their children run through the tables, throw food, scream to get their way, totally misbehave and show no respect to others. Recently a restaurant posted a sign that caused a controversy and many other restaurants across the nation are doing similar things. Now a few mothers are boycotting and I found on one forum a mother’s reply “Hopefully this group will turn out a list of other restaurants they're boycotting. That way I'll know where I can go to avoid irresponsible mothers with bratty kids.”
I am a Single Mom and mine were raised to behave properly and they did. So, it definitely makes me wonder on children that have two parents why this is occurring everywhere and not just in restaurants.

Back to tipping, I saw on the news where some of the wealthiest people in our country are the cheapest when it comes to gratuity. At Celebrity Tippers-Saints N Scums provides a list and summaries. For centuries, herbs have been used for nourishing the body and soul. Here are uses that are common today:

1. Aromatherapy. Use essential oils derived from herbs and flowers to soothe aching muscles and lift your spirits.
2. Freshening bath. Mix lemon verbena or lavender with bath salts, place in a cloth sack and add to bathwater.
3. Room freshener. Hang a basket of lemon verbena and rub a leaf as you pass. Make a lavender potpourri.
4. Chamomile hair rinse. To add sheen, rinse hair with warm tea made from dried chamomile.
5. Fragrant soaps can be made with herbs, essential oils and emollients.

I have been growing, using and believing in herbs for a very long time. It has only been in the last couple of years that I have started buying fresh instead of growing them. Either way, it truly makes your food taste better and they are especially beneficial to your health. Most are so easy it is like growing weeds, perhaps you may want to give it a try! (smiling) For the ones living north in colder climates, they can be placed near a south window inside for as much sun as possible. The key is to pinch or cut frequently to prevent the plant from going to seed other than that, very little maintenance. I use garlic almost everyday and others on hand sweet basil, rosemary, thyme, parsley, cilantro, chives and a few others. The abundance of links to research is endless, for your type of cooking, to better your health, garnishes, or making gifts. What herbs fresh or dry do you use?
P.S. Once I bought unique bottles, twine, made labels and added olive oil to different herbs, actually it turned out to be quite nice. These days flavored olive oils can be expensive, but you can do it yourself and save probably half the price or less. I am considering making it this time with vinegar, besides the bottles look decorative as well....even if I keep some for myself. (smiling)

Our US soldiers have passed out dolls to the children on several occasions in Iraq. On Friday- New Low for Terrorists , Iraq seized booby-trapped same type dolls from a car trunk accusing terrorists. Each one contained a grenade or other explosives. This is an all time low going after the children of Iraq from these evil terrorists. Later in the day . Peace River

My son left at daybreak with his buddies for Peace River, FL until Monday. Hummm.... Wondering if camping is working out??? All the pictures I looked at on the internet it reminded me of the Everglades!!! Yikes!!! Perhaps he will call soon with an update, hopefully his cell works in the woods and/or in the boat. The weather is beautiful here, so I bet they are having fun.

CNN Caught on Audio Tape (Listen)

We have all heard about the Big X placed on our Vice President Dick Cheney’s face during his powerful speech on Monday by CNN. CNN stated it was an accident.

Moments ago I visited one of my favorite news site Gateway Pundit he had a picture posted and many links to this story. His blog is part of a network that reports and links world news as it happens.

The Pope is wearing what my business was for years, selling high-end Italian designer clothing and accessories. Personally I love Prada handbags and of course the Gucci sunglasses!! When I read this story, I could not help but smile!

Italian designer items are better made than what comes out of China. After visiting the factories in Italy, they definitely take pride in their work. However, paying retail prices these days instead of wholesale as before, could be considered ridiculous if not bought on sale. (smiling) Just a thought if you go shopping on Friday. I can assure you there is no sale that good for me to fight the crowds over. Most likely “The Biggest Shopping day of the Year” I will be eating leftovers and watching football. What are your plans for the long weekend?

I love Kimchi

I was introduced to Kimchi in the mid 80’s and have loved it ever since. I would open the lid and eat it straight out of the jar with chopsticks. Actually after a recent story featuring Kimchi on our news I mentioned to my daughter we need to go buy some. It has been awhile for me and my mouth is watering thinking about it. Where I am from, we would have to go to Pensacola, FL to purchase a jar or two. It was only a 30 minute drive, but unless you had other business there you shopped locally at home, no quick expressway. Living in this area, I’m sure we have many places to purchase from, however we called one place and they are sold out – on back order. Now I have this uncontrollable craving! (smiling) For the ones not familiar with Kimchi, this is a little background.

Sauerkraut could fight bird flu, say scientists

Sauerkraut, the dish adored in Germany but much maligned in Britain, could prove to be a secret weapon against the threat of bird flu, experts revealed.

Scientists believe that the traditional recipe, which is made from chopped cabbage that is fermented for at least a month, contains a bacteria that may combat the potentially fatal disease.

Their findings follow a study in which kimchi - a spicy cabbage dish popular in South Korea and similar to sauerkraut - was fed to 13 chickens infected with bird flu. Just one week later, 11 of the birds showed signs of recovery from the virus.

"The feed has been shown to help improve the fight against bird flu or other types of flu viruses," said Prof Kang Sa-ouk, who led the research at Seoul National University, yesterday.

Prof Kang's team claims that lactobacillus, the lactic acid bacteria created during the fermenting process, is the active ingredient that could combat bird flu.

Health experts have already agreed that there may be some truth to kimchi's curative properties, prompting an increase in the consumption of the dish in South Korea.

Sales of sauerkraut in the United States have also soared as a result of the research, and now Britain is starting to catch on. Last night, importers of the dish to Britain said that sales were rising and they were increasing stocks in the expectation that demand could escalate.

Geoff Hale, the commercial manager for Euro Food Brands, said: "Sales are very buoyant at the moment. We bring in about half-a-million jars of sauerkraut to Britain from Germany every year and that number is definitely going up."

Sales of sauerkraut were up 20 per cent on this time last year at Sainsbury's, according to a spokesman for the supermarket.

Whether or not sauerkraut does cure bird flu, the dish is said to have a number of other health benefits, among them cancer-fighting and detoxifying properties.
It is also a rich source of vitamins.

One serving, which contains only 32 calories and has four grams of fibre, provides 102 per cent of the recommended daily intake of vitamin K, 12 per cent of iron and 35 per cent of vitamin C.

Prof Richard Mithen, from the Institute of Food Research, in Norwich, said: "Eating kimchi or sauerkraut may be good for your health and help fight off infections.

"I wouldn't recommend anyone rushing out to stock up on sauerkraut specifically to fight off bird flu, but it may help your immune system."

A further study on sauerkraut, carried out recently by Polish and American scientists, concluded that the meal might be the reason for the lower breast cancer rate observed among Polish immigrants in America.

Enjoying Blog World

For some time now, I have truly enjoyed reading several new favorite blogs in the last few months. Due to the hurricane it bothers me that there is not enough time in the day to catch up on their previous posts and still visit all my other favorite friends/readers along with people of interest and new visitors. However, I am going to try little by little to keep up and read backwards. (smiling) Bare with me please!! I know I have missed out on some really great posts while I was out-of-pocket.

If you have not checked out Patrick you are missing out. A summary of his profile reads as follows:

That has been a pleasure too, looking forward to visiting her blog more often in the near future. Wishing time permitted me to research many of the in-depth debates that are discussed there, I usually just chime in with a comment with my gut feeling at the moment. Patrick publishes often so you will find a range of researched subjects with links to many different sites, sources and pictures. Patrick, I truly enjoy your blog and I hope all will come and visit you.

Oh the subject of other favorite blogs I have to mention Ed Abbey-Recycled Thoughts In Iowa, Ed writes about varies subjects on his life, past, saving money, his views, travels, morals and family views, etc. Congratulations to him and his wife, they are expecting their first baby. He gave all of us permission to shout it out even though their extended family still does not know the exciting news yet. (smiling) He reminds me of my past at times living on a farm growing up and it truly brings back pleasant memories.

Both Patrick and Ed's blogs arouses interest. So if you get time, these sites are definitely worth checking out. I believe you will find what I have..... being enthralled with what they have to share with us ALL.

Naps are Healthy

Napping- it's not just for children anymore.
For a long time in North America, afternoon naps have been associated with young children, people recuperating from illnesses, or pure laziness. In our busy society, the last thing on the lengthy to-do list of most adults is to stop and catch 40 winks. Recently, however, the benefits of napping has been reconsidered by sleep experts, and even employers.

Sleep deprivation in our society has become a serious epidemic. It is estimated that less than half of all adults and teens are getting a full 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night, many getting 6 hours or less. Because people shoulder so many responsibilities, they are often willing to forgo a couple of extra hours each night in order to get things done.

However, in order to function well, our bodies require proper rest just as they require a good diet and physical activity. Not only is sleep deprivation unhealthy, but it can be dangerous. People who are sleep deprived are more prone to accidents and making mistakes.

Scientists are finding that just a little nap in the afternoons is beneficial to a person's health and well being. All opinions are welcome here and everyone knows that. My personal thoughts on this are I am a Christian too and we are supposed to live by the laws of our country. Perhaps an eye for an eye is appropriate!

These criminals know very well what the consquences are before committing these horrific crimes and yes I am in support of the death penalty esp. when all evidence proves they are guilty.

This type of crime against children the recidivism rate has been proven to be astronomically high and our government officials know this and still allow them on the streets. The fault starts w/the offender but there should be some accountability for the ones that are letting them make deals to be released to do this again. I am sick of ones feeling sorry for these bastards, wanting to give them a slap on the wrist and releasing them back into OUR society. Eventually parents of these victims ARE going to result in being a vigilante and yes I’m afraid I would do the same thing if this happened to my child. I believe the RAGE needs to be inflamed then perhaps AMERICA will wake-up to this unthinkable crime against children and do something about it starting with our elected officials and the judges in our country.

“Whatever happens to Joseph Smith, even if he receives death, needs to be done with dignity and respect” (I am not singling you out, but tell me why other than God’s imagine that Mr. Smith deserves this after what he did to Carlie?) In my opinion, he does not deserve any dignity, respect or privileges; ironically, he has more rights than the victim and is treated with too damn much consideration. Jesus can love him and when Mr. Smith meets God our Creator, then he will be judged meanwhile we should get him there for it quicker. As long as you live in this country it is against the law to kidnap, rape and murder a child, and he knew Florida has the death penalty. There needs to be a huge message sent out if you are going to RAPE our children you are going to die or serve life. Hopefully they will fire up Old Sparky for these baby rapers!

You may not know that I’m an advocate on getting these sick bastards off the streets and for STATES to pass tougher laws protecting our children – The Jessica Lunsford Law. They are roaming our streets and it is left up to us citizens to do something about this, otherwise it will remain the same as it has been forever. I could not sleep last night thinking of little Carlie Brucia and what she endured from Mr. Smith. There was no way she had a chance of getting away from him. I watched this trial off and on during the live coverage and the details are chilling…not to mention the overwhelming evidence against Mr. Smith.

Amber Alert: South FL

HIALEAH, Fla. — A convicted sex offender who may be armed and suicidal was suspected of abducting a 17-year-old girl, police said Thursday.
An Amber Alert was issued for Dialys Ramos, who disappeared Wednesday and was last seen in Hialeah. The man believed to have kidnapped her is Robert Laird, 39, of Miami, who was previously convicted of lewd or lascivious battery on a victim 12 to 15 years old, police said.

Michael Jackson in Ladies Room

Michael Jackson the sexual predator is in the news again and avoided police interrogation. According to:

Contactmusic.com Pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON reportedly avoided police interrogation in Dubai on Saturday (12NOV05), after accidentally using the ladies bathroom at a shopping mall.
The singer, who spends most of his time in nearby Bahrain, was caught adjusting his make-up in the female washroom of the Ibn Battuta Mall in the Arab Emirate, by a 37-year-old Tunisian teacher known as LATIFA M.

According to Arab newspaper Khaleej Times' report of the event, Jackson was wearing a T-shirt and trousers and a traditional Arab women's headscarf.

When Latifa M spotted Jackson, she began taking pictures of him on her mobile phone. He then reportedly chased after her and a mall security guard attempted to take her phone. She refused to hand it over without compensation and called police.

According to Khaleej Times, COLONEL ABDUL JALIL AL MEHDI, deputy director of the Preventive Security Department of Dubai Police, attempted to resolve the situation with Latifa M and two of Jackson's female companions - while the singer fled in a limousine.

Colonel Mehdi informed Latifa she is not entitled to compensation under local law and convinced her to hand over her phone.

Reported on Ignaczy’s BlogDubai Police Col. Abdul Jalil Mehdi said he believed the pop star made an "innocent mistake" in using the ladies' loo, the Times said Mehdi did not comment on Jackson's choice of head-wear - the traditional Emerati women's scarf known as "Sheila."

What I understand from other sources Michael Jackson was dressed like a woman and I doubt it was a mistake, he went into the wrong bathroom. I wonder what men in Bahrain would think seeing him in front of mirror touching up his rouge! It seems the country of Bahrain has laws against extradition, the way I understand it, wasn’t that convenient for him to flee there and kiss up to the Prince? He is a guest of Sheik Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the son of Bahrain's king. Makes you wonder what may happen to him there if one of the crazy Islamic Radicals gets a hold of him.

Central & South America

One of my friends Sage just returned from a trip to Honduras in Central America a little over a week ago. I did not link to any particular post on his blog because he has several great posts starting 10-30-05. I encourage all that may be interested in reading about his adventures and viewing the great photos he took to flip over and visit.

Sage mentioned playing with the local children as his doctor friends help the villagers, so he inspired me to post a picture of me doing the same with children in Venezuela playing soccer in the late 90’s on a small island called Los Roques off the coast of Caracas. It is a good thing I went then, because now with President Hugo Chavez I have no interest in ever going back there again. I do have a local friend that bought a condo there last year off Margarita Island and loves living there and with his sailboat, really glad now I did not take him up on his invitation for a long visit. In my opinion, we should do away with Hugo and my thoughts are he is only going to be a bigger threat in the future to our security than he is already.
P.S. I was there on a fishing excursion catching Bonefish with a flyrod! Also caught a huge Tarpon in the surf.

My Son and Bella

I finally took two rolls of film to Walgreen’s for development. Since my scanner is broken, the photo center now puts pictures on CD....easy and amazing-there should be no excuses now! (smiling) Then you can upload the ones you wish to be printed at a very low price. The above picture was taken a couple of years ago of my SON and our big baby Bella.

I guess it is time to get my battery replaced for my Sony digital camera, buy a new scanner and/or purchase another color cartridge for my printer. These days I do not take the pictures I use to however, while in Philly I finished off this film and used another roll with my son's Canon 35 mm. This turned out to be fairly simple and easy so perhaps more to come - one day soon. (smiling) My thoughts forever have been starting a scrapbook(s) with the hundreds of photo's I have in print that are not scanned or on my computer. Well, I keep saying ONE DAY I'll get to it. (smiling) I am the WORST PROCRASTINATOR ever!!

My Thoughts of all of YOU

So much has been going on here both hurricane related and personal that this is the first time I have been on the computer in a week. Home Invasion

Most all my adult life growing up in south Alabama, on the island of Gulf Shores and a bit north in the more rural areas, the last thing we ever had to worry about was any serious crimes much less someone forcing themselves in our homes during the day. My Mom and two sisters live very close to each other in an upper to middle class part of the county on and close to a main road that is used frequently for locals to escape our only main busy highway that goes south to the Gulf of Mexico/beaches. Baldwin County has very little crime however, over the years the citizens are still shocked if a homicide usually domestic, a robbery, or a rape may occur. These type crimes are rare and far and in between. This area the crime rate is still very low and a very safe place to live and raise a family.

Immediately this type of terror becomes the talk of the town and word passes around quickly. Right now, all are chatting about it and the people are truly scared. So far, these two men have not been comprehended.

This past week so far there has been six (6) home invasions in the middle of the day; two occurred with one a round the corner two houses away from my sister’s home and another a few miles up the road on her street not far at all. (way too close to family) As we say, only a rock throw away! (Southern slang) The perpetrators are targeting also elderly people outside working in their yard then forcing them in their homes by gunpoint then robbing them. Nevertheless, the communities are terrified including my family, relatives and friends. My Mom is located in this same area and is in the yard everyday. I’m also worried enough to where I am wondering if I may need to go there very soon for a couple of weeks.

I remember way too well and it seems not so long ago, most all homes did not have a house key or could not find it if they did and it was routine to leave your car keys in the ignition for easy access. This was and is a very common practice unbelievably. Neighborhoods look out after each other and everyone is friendly and most often your best friends. This disturbing development has truly caused me to worry about my Mom and sister that are alone during the day. Nowadays you can sure tell that even in small town America is not safe from crime and the increase of bad people are moving in rapidly. This is one of the many of reasons for me being distracted from blogging and visiting this week as well. I have been on the phone daily checking on them and getting the updates along with the local TV website from there. Has anyone ever dealt with this type of invasion or know someone that has?

P.S. We have a houseguest from AL this week and found a hurricane homeless little poodle that we have temporarily adopted until we can track down his owner(s) or find a good home. Also trying to disinfect our home to avoid mold and mildew, fix damages and get back to normal. I hope that life will start allowing me to get back into the computer again and keep up with what all is happening in my dear friends’ lives. Take care and have a great weekend. Under Construction

I miss reading everyone’s blog!! We are still repairing, replacing and trying to get things back in order due to the hurricane. It seems the media has forgotten us. Perhaps it is hurricane fatigue or something because there has been no mention of Florida and Wilma on national news, however it is still very bad here. After two weeks as of today, it was first day of school for the children, within our counties there are people still without power, most all traffic lights are not working and it is chaos all over. Our whole community is covered with blue tarps and the clean up is massive. Possibly, I can get back on schedule with my friends and writing again very soon. I am trying to keep an upbeat attitude and have faith that paradise will be back soon. (smiling) Maybe tomorrow will be better……

Ground Zero Wilma

WOOOHOOO!! We have ELECTRICITY!!

Thank you to all that have commented with best wishes, your prayers and sincere concern. My family is humbly grateful and appreciative. I have missed everyone and so thrilled to be back online again.

I have to report that we have been unusually good campers without power for a week. We are very fortunate that we have minimum damages aside from the blue tarp on our roof, trees down everywhere, a broken vehicle window and a few other small things our attitude has been upbeat, optimistic and happy to be alive. (smiling) The neighborhood has been awesome; we have shared ice, food, the grill and generators. Thanks to the weather including a nice breeze, it has been tolerable to sleep without our A/C, hurray for that. (smiling)

My daughter and I endured 3-hour lines for fuel a few times only to be turned away with the stations running out, but finally we received a full tank. The traffic is still scary because no street light signals are working and every intersection is considered a 4-way stop with eight plus lanes on each corner. We were told it was going to be on or before November 22 before we were restored with power because, we live close to the beach on the east side; however, we were blessed with an early hook-up. HURRAY again!!

Our residence is in a small community called Deerfield Beach, it sandwiched in between Boca Raton and Pompano Beach, located on the county line with Broward and Palm Beach County. Deerfield Beach is the north city on the Broward county line with two exits from I-95 and seven beach streets. Out of our tri-counties there were 3.4 million 98% out of power, Broward is still only 52% restored. WE ARE SO HAPPY to be getting somewhat back to normalcy. Direct TV showed up hours after the power, I thought to call them the day after the hurricane and be on the schedule. Fantastic timing!! Now as power is slowing being re-stored, we can go get more groceries and hang out in our comfortable home!!! YaY!!

As we watched the fast moving WILMA go through from 8 a.m. that morning to about noon, it was like the Wizard of OZ. All of us including our neighbors gathered in a safe outside covered north area and watched live as the trees and roof tiles flew through the air, what a wild scene. We all ran out during the EYE to cover to the broken windows and remove tree limbs from our vehicles to only hurray back to safety for the backside as it came with 125 mile an hour winds….totally incredible to witness. We have no idea when things will be back to life as we know it here in South Florida, but we are coping well and very thankful for what we do have.
