Open Arms for Sarkozy, French Pres. Next Week's Visit

France's President Nicolas Sarkozy is scheduled for his first official trip to the United States, since being elected six months ago. The Pro-American President will tour with President Bush in Mount Vernon and address a joint session of Congress, next week. He should be greeted with open arms as a new ally and friend of the U.S. His position on the Global War on Terror should be one good reason to start.

With growing and serious concerns dealing with Iran, Sarkozy has taken a position for a tougher line against them than the previous wimpy former Pres. Jacques Chirac. This new relationship between France and the U.S. is welcoming and long awaited. It is nice that we can enjoy French wine and cheese again. (smiling)
