Moussaoui Behind Bars for Life

The Virginia Jurors at the Alexander court house rejected giving convicted conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui the sentence of death for his role in Sept 11th attacks. The court's public information officer, Edward Adams, said the jurors were "not unanimous in favor of a sentence of death." Moussaoui was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.

In my opinion, I feel he should have been sentenced to death. He played the jurors and got what he wanted; insane or aware of his behavior, actions and outburst, he knew exactly what he was doing. I do not believe Moussaoui wanted death. Heaven forbid if he is ever able to escape, a natural disaster opens the doors of our prisons, or further communications between him and other terrorists and new recruits in or outside the prison. It seems dangerous to me with him being able to live possibly 40-50 years behind bars. Martyr or not, that to me would be forgot within a day or so but he would live in hell for eternity. What were these jurors thinking? Solitary confinement!! Well, what happens after years of good behavior? Will he really rot?

The jury seemed to buy his childhood with blame to his parents for him growing up and joining Al Qaeda. That is insulting to me. I am extremely disappointed.
Others feel differently I know but one thing for sure, he is under tight security and will be behind bars.
Keep in mind:
This is going to cost 100,000 a year to house and feed him while he lives his life. What about the victims that do not have that choice and the families that have to live knowing he is living. He does not deserve life, forget the bogus martyr status. After the judge and jury left the room when the verdict was read, Moussaoui smiled and clapped twice. He said "America you lost."

The jury found him eligible for DEATH, but they did not give it to him!!! hummm
