Hurray It is Auburn Football Season and O/T

If you read my blog last year, every Saturday you rec'd a cheer for my Tigers...War Eagle!!! Today's season opener kicks off the first game with Washington State. This is not a conference game with the SEC, but I'm excited and can't wait. Wishing Everyone a Happy Holiday Weekend!!!

Auburn University Welcomes ROTC Members Back to School From Service in Iraq and Afghanistan With Stadium-Wide Text Message Salute
Six Auburn students and one instructor from Auburn University's ROTC Tiger Troops program will receive a hero's welcome home during Saturday's season opener versus Washington State. The seven Tiger Troops will be honored mid-field during a pre-game ceremony honoring these and all Auburn students, faculty and staff who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The more than 80,000 fans anticipated for Saturday's game will be invited to show their support for the troops by using their cell phones during a special stadium-wide text message salute as part of the pre-game ceremony. The effort is being conducted by America Supports You, a Department of Defense outreach program that communicates the American public's support to the troops. The recognition ceremony is part of the Army's Operation Tribute to Freedom program that honors returning soldiers for their service.

Kick off is at 6:30 p.m. (central time) at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Alabama.
