Saudi Men Off Easy for Boarding School Bus
Remember in Tampa, FL the two Saudi men that boarded a school bus of children in May 2006 bounded for Wharton High School?
Mana Saleh Almanajam, 23, and Shaker Mohsen Alsidran, 20, were charged with trespassing on school grounds and being unlawful riders. The minor charge ended up being trespassing, it still sounds suspicious to me. They were arrested and spent the weekend in jail. The two lied at first and said they were from Morocco, and then finally came forth that they were from Saudi Arabia.
Their reason for boarding the school bus was they just wanted to visit the school and was not aware it was just for students (children). Both men gave conflicting stories, but the detectives felt they meant no harm. Aren't you suppose to tell the truth while questioned by police? Wonder if they were wearing a backpacks?
They arrived in this country on student visas.....seven months ago. Wow, you would think since they are enrolled in the English Language Institute at the University of South FL, they knew what they were doing or planning on anyway....at least have their story straight. It makes me wonder also..... if they had another one of our liberal judges for sentening. (yesterday)
The AP reports that the two men WILL NOT BE PROSECUTED, if they meet and complete the terms of the pretrial intervention program; the terms were not immediately available.
Houston Chronicle has more on this story.
